Bio-architecture Formosana

The Taiwan Sugar Corporation promoted the construction of a residential community complex, the Taisugar Circular Village (TCV), which is configured as a service entirely based on the concept of circular economy and on some innovative construction and management. The TCV is ten minutes from Tainan Railway Station and occupies a site of approximately one and a half hectares. The complex consists of three identical housing blocks, the C-House, which houses some shared services such as gym, library, tool room, laundry, and the E-house, which houses a common kitchen and an aquaponic cultivation system, assembled around a central open space in order to form an open courtyard, permeable and crossable in several points. The complex houses a total of 351 residential units, predominantly studios and a small number of apartments with one, two or three bedrooms, all placed on the market exclusively for rent and without a planned complex of purchase possibilities.
