THE MEMORY OF AN OLD FACTORY LIVES AGAIN IN A BRICK INSTALLATION

Types of spaces Temporary Pavilion in Logroño, Spain

Palma - HANGHAR

On the occasion of the seventh edition of the International Festival of Architecture and Design CONCÉNTRICO in Logroño, Spain, the group formed by the Mexican studio Palma and Madrid studio Hangar created the installation “Types of Spaces”, a temporary brick pavilion inserted in the narrow urban corridor of an old factory in Spain. Open to all citizens, the festival, since its first edition in 2015, invites visitors to experience the city through installations, debates, activities and exhibitions focused on public space and places of coexistence, a theme that is all the more relevant especially in this pandemic period. The goal is to rediscover places of interest in the historic centre of the city trying to enhance them through happening realized in hidden, forgotten, abandoned urban spaces, which normally go unnoticed in everyday life, with a particular eye focused onto the sustainability of materials and ideational and constructive processes.
