{"id":10624,"date":"2022-04-09T18:38:53","date_gmt":"2022-04-09T16:38:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/industriacostruzioni.gebsoftware.com\/riviste\/il-verde-nel-progetto-della-citta-contemporanea\/"},"modified":"2022-04-13T11:56:54","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T09:56:54","slug":"il-verde-nel-progetto-della-citta-contemporanea","status":"publish","type":"riviste","link":"https:\/\/www.lindustriadellecostruzioni.it\/en\/riviste\/il-verde-nel-progetto-della-citta-contemporanea\/","title":{"rendered":"Green spaces in the project of the contemporary city"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since man started his activity on the natural environment to make it liveable, green spaces have always played a\u00a0complementary role to that of the built environment in defining the shape and character of cities.\u00a0Natural space is never conceived apart from the artificial one: nature and artifice go hand in hand over\u00a0the course of the history, enhancing each other thanks to their dialectical relation.\u00a0This issue aims to reflect on the role of green spaces in the dynamics of transformation and redevelopment of the\u00a0contemporary city. In recent years, the natural component is taking on new value, due to the heavy urban densification\u00a0processes and their global effects on the environmental balance.These processes require a clearly defined approach on empty spaces at all scales, from the single building to the\u00a0neighbourhood to the urban fabric. They confirm the need to work on porosity, on the void spaces between the built, in\u00a0order to obtain a healthier living environment, able to provide meeting and exchange opportunities and to strengthen the\u00a0importance of the green component in the transformation of the contemporary metropolis.\u00a0<em>Greening the city<\/em>\u00a0is an old slogan, which assumes an increasingly vital role in the destiny of our habitats.\u00a0The introductory essays address issues related to the contemporary landscape and to the residual space\u00a0project \u2013 empty areas, marginal areas, interstices \u2013 which today take on the role of important opportunities to rethink the\u00a0urban space.\u00a0To design these areas, references to the traditional morphology of urban space are no longer sufficient; elements derived\u00a0from geography, from the natural landscape, from the topographical traces are the starting point to give shape to these\u00a0places. The settlement model of reference is no longer that of the compact city but takes into account the values of natural\u00a0and agricultural landscape: urban and landscape morphology contaminate each other, generating interesting artificial-natural\u00a0hybridizations.\u00a0We can find these guidelines in the projects presented in the issue.
